Students across the district are constantly expressing themselves through breathtaking artwork and soul-touching pieces of writing, some of which were recognized at the state level this year.
PSD students earned 25 state-level 2026 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards through the Colorado Art Awards this year, across individual achievements and portfolios. These include:
- Lucy Stapf, Fort Collins High School, won 3 individual Gold awards and 1 Gold portfolio award
- Sierra Wheeler, Fort Collins High School, named best in Grade 11,1 individual Gold award, and 1 honorable mention
- Megan Barber, Fort Collins High School, named American Vision nominee and won 1 individual Gold award
- Steph Ridgeway, Fort Collins High School, 1 individual Gold award
- Norah Abdo, Fort Collins High School, 1 portfolio Silver award
- Molly Margenau, Fort Collins High School, 1 portfolio Gold award
- Wade Faulkner, Rocky Mountain High School, 1 individual Gold award
- Mark Olenick, Rocky Mountain High School, 1 portfolio Gold award
- Alta Clayton, Fossil Ridge High School, 1 individual Silver award
- Bell Zietz, Fossil Ridge High School, 1 individual honorable mention
- Ethan Boggs, Poudre High School, 1 individual Silver award
- Quentin Metcalf, Poudre High School, 1 individual Gold award, 2 individual Silver awards, and 1 honorable mention
- Owen Mills, Poudre High School, 1 individual Silver award
The Golden Key winners in this group are all automatically nominated for national awards as well.
