Rosie Navejas brings more than 26 years of experience in education, including teaching in Early Childhood and Elementary grades, bilingual education, and work with adult learners. Her leadership in K-12 Professional Learning and Curriculum and Instruction has focused on Literacy, Education Technology, and Curriculum Adoption and Implementation. Her expertise is shaped by a mission to uplift the entire educational community.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ student Nikhil Ganta might have come up just shy of the Colorado State Spelling Bee title last year, but in 2026 he would not be denied as he won the state championship over the weekend. 

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ students, educators, and families have a lot to celebrate. Data presented to the Board of Education in February 2026 as part of the District Ends (DE) 1.0 Monitoring Report shows meaningful progress across nearly every measure of student success ¡ª from early childhood readiness through graduation and beyond.

We want to acknowledge that this year, some state-required assessments are scheduled during Passover, an important holiday for many members of our community. We recognize that this timing may create challenges for students and families who observe, and we want to express our understanding and support.

Over the past several weeks, I¡¯ve shared information about enrollment trends and the work of our Comprehensive Planning Committee. I want to continue that commitment to open and honest communication by sharing an update about the budget challenges ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is facing as we plan for the 2026¨C27 school year.

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is pleased to announce that Alison Ferguson has been selected as the next principal of Johnson Elementary School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Ferguson brings more than a decade of administrative experience to the position with a focus on making all children feel welcome. 

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is excited to announce that Angel Herrick has been selected as the next principal of PSD¡¯s three mountain schools ¡ª Red Feather Lakes, Livermore, and Stove Prairie ¡ª beginning in the 2026-2027 school year. Mrs. Herrick brings more than two decades of experience at PSD to the position and is eager to deepen her connections to the unique mountain communities.  

Students across the district are constantly expressing themselves through breathtaking artwork and soul-touching pieces of writing, some of which were recognized at the state level this year.

PSD students earned 25 state-level 2026 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards through the Colorado Art Awards this year, across individual achievements and portfolios. These include: 

Opportunity is a key building block of the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½, which is evident in a program offered to district employees designed to help them, as its name implies, become a teacher.
