For a fourth straight year, Nikhil Ganta has been named the champion of the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ Spelling Bee. Ganta, now a sixth-grade student at Kinard Core Knowledge Middle School, won the 2026 title after correctly spelling ¡°panacea¡± during the competition held at the Johannsen Support Services Center Jan. 23.
All PSD non-charter school buildings will operate on a 2-hour delay Monday, Jan. 26, due to forecasted cold temperatures. Remote learning will not take place. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ will dismiss at the regular time unless families are notified otherwise. Lunch service will continue as scheduled.
Student achievement is always a focus for the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ community, and that dedication to success is again evident in the class of 2025¡¯s record high 89% graduation rate; this marks the second consecutive year of record high graduate rates.

Most ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ schools are operating on a normal schedule today following the restoration of power.
Due to continued high winds and unsafe transportation conditions, Red Feather Lakes Elementary, Livermore Elementary, and Stove Prairie Elementary are closed today.
Because of wind conditions, bus transportation is not available today for students who live in the mountains and attend other PSD schools.
We appreciate our families¡¯ patience and understanding as we prioritize safety and continue to monitor conditions.
As a precaution due to the possibility of a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) by Xcel Energy, Bethke Elementary, Timnath Elementary, and Timnath Middle-High School will be closed Dec. 17. All athletics and activities at these schools are also canceled Wed., Dec. 17. This decision was made to ensure we do not need to dismiss students during the school day if power is shut off for an extended period.
